Loved our stay at Mana Kai #215

Condo 215 was everything it promised in the VRBO advertisement. Room was somewhat dated but still quite nice and very clean. My family of 5 with 3 children ages 9, 12 & 14 had a great time staying there. Beach location is wonderful and it's a gorgeous beach - we drove all around island to other beaches and always wanted to come back to ours. The in hotel amenities of an activities desk, convenience store and restaurant were wonderful and all the staff were very helpful. The hotel activity desk organized a great snorkel tour to the Molokini crater from the marina beside the hotel on the 'Seafire' who had an amazing crew. Maui condo and car was very responsive in addressing the few questions or concerns we had. Hotel is very close to the ocean so you definitely wake up hearing the ocean waves and beach sounds. The view from the lanai is gorgeous and there was always a breeze going through the unit - there was no need to use the air conditioning. We enjoyed happy hour at the five Palms restaurant in the hotel one evening and the food, drinks and service were great. Overall I would definitely recommend this condo for it's price point, especially for a family - we didn't even have to wear shoes down to the beach and could literally walk back in seconds for anything we forgot.
Would do it again without hesitation

Spot was great and had everything we wanted. We were traveling with a 4 month old and there is even a nook at the entrance tot the master bath that fit a pack n play perfectly which was one of the things we were tsure about before we got there. Location in the second floor by the stair well made for quick access to beach and pool area, literally a minute away. Great to have a good restaurant on site with a fantastic happy hour too. Only thing that would have been a little better was a table on the lanai that sat 4 rather than just 2. Other than that really great spot and Maui condo and car were helpful with a later checkout and delivery of a fan to replace one that wasn't working.
Mana Kai 215C ...

this is our second stay in this condo. (previous stay sept 2012) we LOVE the Mana Kai. sleeping and waking to the sound of the waves is priceless. our friends stayed a few floors directly above us, and yes their more expensive condo had upgrades and was fancier all around... but guess what, we all congregated in our condo anyway. we love having coffee on the lanai and watching the tourist and locals alike, wander in to start their day at the beach. if you are a light sleeper, yes the parking lots sounds might be an issue, but we were so dog tired it wasn't a problem for us. the only noise issue we had was with the leaf blower guy on the huge lawn. after watching him chase the same leaves around for 'two hours' (no exaggeration, it was two solid hours and would be funny if not for the noise) we concluded he must be getting paid by the hour. someone must have complained as he was sporting a rake the rest of our time there. i would like to give kudos to the maui condo & car staff. they are the best. professional, courteous and available seven days a week. a rare find in maui my friends. we had a smoke detector beeping and they got the job done. this condo is an excellent value. if you prefer fancier digs then perhaps for the same money you can stay across the street. but for a week's stay directly on keawakapu beach, 215C rocks. beach chairs, ice chests and beach towels provided. can't wait to come back. huge thanks!!!
Thank you! We hope to be back soon.

The unit was nothing fancy, but the location was absolutely perfect. The beach was lovely for swimming snorkeling or just gazing at the sunset. The property was clean and well maintained, if a little tired. The restaurant was overpriced, but that's just how it is in HI.
a great vacation rental!

We were completely happy with this condo. The building sits on a point, so that every condo has a truly fabulous beach view. The beach and pool were perfect for a family vacation--I swam with a turtle on my second day at the beach. The condo was clean, beds were comfy, and the place had everything we needed. Even in unusually hot weather, the ceiling fans and breeze flowing through kept the condo livable. Yoga classes in the building are taught by excellent instructors, and the food and views from the Five Palms restaurant are delightful!

The high point of our stay was the view and close proximity to the beach. Sitting on the lanai we could observe whales and beautiful sunsets. Very peaceful.
Maui Condo And Car responded quickly to our request to take care of the squeaky door and ants.
The condo is furnished with all the touches of home that made our stay pleasant.
We used the spare bedroom as an office and set up the computer there. The WiFi was very fast, 21 Mbps-- be careful to use the recommended protected WiFi.
We closed off the doors to the second bedroom to block noise from the parking lot. The mina birds and slamming car doors are pretty noisy.
Enjoy your stay -- we did.

Great experience. I am familiar with the Mana Kai having stayed there at least 8 times in the past. A few comments on the specific property:
1) Microwave surface light didn't work
2) Door Bell for unit B did not work
3) Several chips in the tub in unit B
4) Unit B ceiling fan squeaked and the fan blades were dirty
5) A unit needed more table lamps

Condo in very convenient location to all points of Maui, with great balcony view of the beach and activities. It was stocked with unexpected amenities such as beach chairs and beach umbrellas. We had up to 6 people stay during the 10 days. One bedroom is very private with its own bathroom,TV, microwave, and fridge. Second floor location offers good view with handy stairs. Elevator also available. Washer/dryer very close, with nice little market and rentals right on the property. Rooms set up nicely, although the pull-out sleeper couch in living room and the master bedroom are separated only by a sliding partition. It worked out fine for us. Balcony is a great feature -- wonderful for morning coffee and sunsets. Nice to be able to just walk out the door and not have to drive to enjoy a beautiful stretch of beach, with good snorkeling and wave play. Two beachfront restaurants right there, as well. Minor maintenance was needed: lightbulbs out, sliding doors to balcony difficult to lock/unlock until sprayed with 24-D. Bedroom fridge needed defrosting badly, which we did. Large main kitchen was great, although dishwasher a tad touchy to get started. Nice variety of condiments on hand, too. Wish we could have stayed longer! We'd rent there again and enjoyed our stay immensely.

The overall stay was great and weather was fantastic. The unit itself was as advertised. There is a few small items that could be fixed like the screen doors which dont roll properly, and the patio furniture was not comfortable at all. Our only real issues were with the property itself as they dug a 8ft deep hole outside our unit for 5 days to repair a water line. The sound of an excavator all day was not good for our baby and was awoken numerous times. The laundry room on our floor was also closed for repair the last couple days which was very inconvenient. other then that its a beautiful beach and location.
Had a wonderful visit with our family.

We were happy except for the rental agreement said air-conditioning and yes if you had apt B we did have. It but the description of the apt/condo was that it all. Had air and it did not. Thanks to our family my wife and I were allowed to sleep in the air room with a fan at our door pushing air from our room to the bed they were in. Apt 215 has only the air in Apt B not the entire apt other wise we would to go back to Mana Kai Maui but really need to have the air as advertised.

We enjoyed the close proximity to a great snorkeling beach and one where we could body surf! It was a bit noisy in the early morning with garbage trucks, recycling, BBQ cleaning and other early morning jobs the staff did. Often woken by loud talking right below our open lanai doors, as it was close to an area people went to smoke. The beds, although they claim to be expensive were very uncomfortable! The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed for cooking and preparing healthy meals. No fans in bathrooms was odd. Staff was friendly and helpful. The little mini mart on premises was convenient for buying small items. The location to such a wonderful beach was the best feature.
Beautiful beachfront, roomy condo

We are frequent visitors to Maui and would stay at this condo again. The beachfront was exceptional, the views lovely, and always a gorgeous sunset. My husband and I vacation to unwind, not to catch the early morning snorkel, or kayak adventure. . . . but you COULD from the shop just below. However, if your inclination is to sleep in then we recommend ear plugs so that the early morning sports instructions don't interrupt your dreams : ) We would still return to this condo and felt that the location of the room was a good choice. If you were above the pool area the noise would be a problem, since having the doors open to the sea breeze is so nice. The entire complex is very well kept and up-to-date, very lovely! Perfect location for the Kihei/Wailea area also. SO much to do! You will have a fun filled vacation here! Aloha!

Location was perfect! Condo needs some updating. Mattresses are basically air mattresses and not too comfy. Sofa bed very springy and ok of you weigh less than 80 lbs. Size of room was good for family of 5. Patio screen sliders fall out of track and blender was broken.

WOW!!! Maui is so cool, our first time to visit the island. The folks over at Maui Condo and Car ROCK!! They walked us through everything - from which part of the island to stay to what activities best suited us. Once we settled into staying on the south side they helped us narrow down a condo and the condo they suggested was a PERFECT match! The condo was ocean front, the resort was amazing, all beach gear we needed was inside the condo and we cooked meals to save a little $$, the condo was totally set up with everyhting needed for meals at home. We will stay at this condo everytime we visit Maui which will be often!
Mana Kai, A+++
Reviewed on Friday, April 13, 2012
This was our first visit to Mana Kai, but I can assure you it won't be our last. The view is amazing, the beach is literally right out your front door; pictures don't do it justice. The property just underwent a $25M renovation and it's classic and contemporary decor only enhances the spectacular view that mother nature provides. Maui Condo and Car were great to work with to help book our room, my only recommendation is to request a wi-fi password prior to your arrival. The full kitchen was incredible and helped us save some money for our family of 5. We would recommend restaurants in Kihea, specifically Da Kitchen and Eskimo Candy. Definitely take a short drive to White Beach and the adjacent beach over the lava rocks in Wailea, you won't be disappointed. The book, Maui Revealed is essential if you have never visited Maui or it's been a long time since your last visit. We found it invaluable and took it with us wherever we went. If you are a family or a couple visiting Maui, you'll love Mana Kai and all it has to offer, I wouldn't think of staying elsewhere! Location, Location, Location!! The snorkeling right outside your door is some of the best we found on Maui, great fish and easy to swim if you are new to snorkeling or just not that comfortable swimming far out into the ocean. The pool is great for the later afternoon when the trade winds can pick up and get windy on the beach. The location of the pool is nestled into the building and protected. We're still unpacking from our trip and I'm already thinking about our next visit back to Mana Kai!
