South Maui's residential and resort areas offer diversity in vacation accommodation options for our visitors. Each of the areas representing South Maui will provide a fantastic home base for your Maui vacation, but each is slightly different from the others in terms of personality, amenities and value.

Kihei -Kihei is a great option for families and visitors who enjoy the activities and exciting energy of a tourist vacation community. It's a more active than some of the other communities on the island, with lots of dining and shopping and beach choices. Many of our value conscious accommodation options are in the Kihei area.

Maalaea - Maalaea is farther up the coast from Kihei and a little less busy. It is home to a large boat harbor and Sugar Beach, one of Maui's longest beaches named after it's powdery white sand. Maalaaea is an excellent environment for beach walkers, as MILES of sandy beach extend southward from the village.

Wailea - Wailea is the crown jewel of South Maui visitor desinations. The neighborhood features all of the amenities of island living, in a quiet, peaceful resort-like atmosphere. The scenery is beautiful, with lush landscaping everywhere and some of Maui's finest beaches. There are fine dining and shopping establishments, beautiful golf/tennis facilities and all the amenities offered by several world-class resort hotels. The accommodations in Wailea range from moderately priced to luxurious.

Makena - Makena is a very quiet stretch of South Maui coastline that reaches from the Wailea resorts to the La Perouse lava fields. Through this stretch of coastline lie some of Maui's most beautiful beaches and quiet, historic neighborhoods. Revered by locals and visitors for it's majestic beauty and quiet, old Hawaii feel, Makena is a magical destination. Several smaller resorts and condominium complexes offer deluxe accommodations for discriminating guests.
